Lizel Laurie
Director of Kids Ministry, West Seattle
Lizel has lived in Seattle for most of her life and has two boys, Asher and Phinehas, with her husband, Nathan. She graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in English. Having been raised in a Christian home, Lizel grew up knowing about Jesus and the Bible, but it wasn’t until college where she realized she had been missing the greatest truth about Jesus and his love for her. By God’s grace her eyes were finally opened, and her relationship with him was renewed.
Her experience with children ranges from volunteering with youth groups, to teaching snowboard classes to elementary kids, to caring for babies and small children of friends and family. Her love of teaching and caring for children has only increased since becoming the Director for the West Seattle Expression Kids Ministry.
In her spare time, she enjoys crocheting, sewing, crafting and cooking. She also loves warm, sunny vacations and spending time with family and friends, especially if it involves having a meal together or going on fun outings around town.
