Blood and Water Finds A Way

By Andrew Arthur

In the cracks and the crevices

There lurks dust and viruses

Our hands cannot reach

Those stone-cold surfaces

Let’s pour water from the well

Let’s drain blood from the lamb

For blood and water finds a way

Into obstructed spaces

In the sand and the chasms

There dwells nothing and no one

Our hearts cannot beat

In bone-dry habitats

Let’s pour water from the well

Let’s drain blood from the lamb

For blood and water finds a way

To fill vacated spaces

From the nails and the crossbeams

There drips blood and water

Whose wounds can cleanse

Such scarlet-stained souls

Let’s pour water from the well

Let’s drain blood from the lamb

For blood and water finds a way

To wash eternal spaces
