A picture of the Earth from Space with the words God is Creator

God is Creator

Beautifully and Wonderfully Made

(Genesis 1:1) “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Did you know
the Milky Way is 100,000 light years across with an estimated 200-800 billion planets
and stars, one of which is planet Earth?

(Genesis 1:27) “God created mankind in his own image.” Did you know the human body
is made up of 30 trillion cells, with each cell containing 100 trillion atoms? These atoms
make up the 11 main systems of the human body: skeletal, circulatory, endocrine, etc.

(Luke 12:7) “Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Did you know there
are approximately 7.8 billion people on the earth right now and each person has an
average of 100,000 hairs on their head? And God knows the length of every one of
them.

A Powerful Creator

Our God powerfully created the heavens and the earth, the sun and the stars, and put
everything into orbit. Our God knit together an extraordinary number of atoms to create
a human being that can walk, talk, eat, drink, think, feel and bear the image of God. Our
God cares enough to know our every thought and deed, and the reason that each hair
on our head turns grey. Our God is a God of the details AND the big picture. He sees
everything: every action, every reaction, and every motivation. God intimately knows
every second in the past, present and future.

(Revelation 21:5) “He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything
new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.””

Trusting the Creator

Because everything we see is created by God, we can trust Him to care for His creation.
We can trust that the One who put it all into orbit is also in control of its trajectory. While
mankind’s sin is terribly destructive, it is not stronger than God. While the world seems
to be spinning out of control, it cannot spin out of God’s almighty grasp. We can trust
His every word and His perfect plan.

Because every person is created by God and intimately known by Him, we can trust that
God cares for us. We can trust that He knows what is best for us because He knows our
bodies best. We can trust that every situation we face is for our good and for His glory.
While we quickly become weary, God never tires of loving us. Those who believe in
Jesus can trust that we have been forgiven of our every sin and will one day be with
God in Heaven forever. We can trust that this pain and suffering will come to an end.

What fear is preventing you from trusting God? Likely, that fear is also preventing you
from obeying God. What step of obedience will you take to help turn your fear of the
created world into trust in the one who created it?
