Psalms 96:3 says to “Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the Peoples!” The nations that the Lord has called us to love are right here in Seattle. International students, immigrants, refugees, and business owners from countries around the world come to live in Seattle each year. We—you and me—can be intentional to love these neighbors by inviting them into our lives and simply sharing God’s goodness with them. This not only impacts how they know God, but it transforms our hearts to align with the Lord’s love for the nations.

It is our mission to glorify God by making disciples of all nations. Whether you participate regularly in ministries such as these or if it’s your first time, we are here for you every step of the way. We have weekly, quarterly, and yearly opportunities to empower you to make disciples near and far in the nations. The reality is, though, we need many hands, minds and hearts to be involved, because we can do more together than we can apart!  If you find yourself asking how you can experience the inner joy of serving others in the Global Engagement ministry in 2018, we have plenty of opportunities for you–some starting in just a few weeks!

Eigo Cafe: Eigo Café is a free English program that helps Japanese students practice their English with native English speakers! This is a weekly 1-hour English conversation group based on the school quarter that blesses Japanese people by providing conversation partners and proven curriculum. We are currently looking for conversation partners for Winter quarter starting with the new year. Watch this video and check out www.eigocafe.org for more info.

Sunday Brunch: Sunday Brunch is a monthly gathering in the University district that seeks to provide a space for food and fellowship discussing various cross-cultural life topics. It is our hope that over the experience of cooking, eating, and conversation that natural, yet intentional, connections would form between people from different cultures around the world. This is a great opportunity to serve and love the nations in our city.

Short-Term Global Engagement Trips 2018: The Hallows Church will be partnering with a few organizations and overseas churches this year to send teams across the globe in hopes to strengthen and encourage the local church and support church planting efforts. We will engage with varying communities to share the love of Christ and strengthen ties to the local ministry for long-term disciple-making opportunities. These trips are designed for members of faith to gain exposure to another culture where God is at work and transform the way they live their lives at home while giving their time and talents abroad. For more information, Global Engagement Interest Meetings will be held on January 7th at the West Seattle Expression (12:15 p.m.) and Fremont Expression (3:30 p.m.). A GE Interest Meeting will also be held on January 14th at the North Seattle Expression (10:30 a.m.). In order to estimate how many will be joining us, please register here or email Jen@hallowschurch.org.

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face to shine upon us, Selah, that your way may be known on earth, your saving power among all nations. Psalms 67:1-2
