Luke 1:46-56 captures Mary’s response to the work of God in her life. Mary is humbled to be used by God in such a powerful way and rejoices in the work He promises to do through her and the Child, Jesus, in her womb. Mary’s humble and joyous response to God’s blessing reminds us of God’s power to break through all the barriers that might keep us from His grace and reveals that the only proper response to God’s blessing is worship–worship that is both “me” and “we,” as well as deep and wide.
